Hidden in this picture somewhere is a funny comedy, but unfortunately it stays completely hidden. It is worked out completely wrong. It starts with the casting of Affleck and Lopez as maffiosi, who kidnap the retarded brother of a federal prosecutor to put pressure on him. The insulting jokes, cramp invoking dialogues and romance devoid of any chemistry are enough justification to make this among the worst films ever made. The fact that the character of Lopez is a lesbian who ends up in bed with the character of Affleck does not make the film any more worth seeing, nor does the fact that the word fuck is used more times than there are minutes of screen time. Won Razzie Awards for Worst 'Comedy', Worst Actor (Ben Affleck), Worst Actress, Worst Director, Worst Picture, Worst Screen Couple, Worst Screenplay and was nominated for Razzie Awards for Worst Supporting Actor (Al Pacino and Christopher Walken) and Worst Supporting Actress (Lainie Kazan). Personally I found Lainie Kazan relatively one of the best parts in this otherwise insufferably irritating film... |
