| Based on a novel from the author of "Tipping the Velvet". In London, 1861, orphan Susan Trinder, raised by Mrs Sucksby, grows up among fingersmith (petty thieves). When she's 20 years old, the devious Richard Rivers offers his friend Mrs Sucksby and Sue much money for the assistance of Sue with one of his scams, being cheating Maud Lilly out of a fortune, which she inherits after she marries. Sue and Maud become friends. |
