Dear Mom And Dad (CA 2000; 6') .
Director: Sharon Sliwinski
Dear Mom and Dad is an extremely difficult story of familial homophobia, shot in a supermarket, the back of a car, a laundromat, and a living room. Throughout, the main character meditates on the damage she has suffered as a result of her parents' rejection and recites a letter to her parents; the content of the letter is a mixture of the language of resistance and the splayed narrative of trauma.
