A Woman's A Helluva Thing (US 2001; 100') . .
.
Style: Comedy/romance
Director: Karen Leigh Hopkins
Main Cast: Angus Macfadyen (Houston), Penelope Ann Miller (Zane), Ann-Margret (Claire), Kathryn Harrold (Brandy), Mary Kay Place (Cecilia)
Houston, a man oddly enough very popular with women, goes to the funeral of his mother whom he hasn't talked to in 5 years. There he meets his ex-girlfriend from ten years ago Zane, who turned out to be the executor of his mother's estate, and her lesbian lover for the last three years. The film revolves mostly about the emotional growing-up of Houston, a not so pleasant character. The idea is good, and Miller, who plays Zane, is excellent, but Macfadyen is not quite enough actor to compensate for the inadequate script.
