| Academy award winning history, although a bit flat dramatically, that spans 50 years in the life of Antonia, who knows her end is near and whose sometimes harsh life and that of her female descendants pass by in flashbacks. An ode to the woman and matriarchy. The voice-over becomes annoying after a while. The story has some nice and original scenes, but in total the film is not exceptional. |
