| Nabou, a 23-year old German lesbian woman with African roots, is thrown out by beautiful Katja. In an attempt to win her back, she starts to work as a housewife for another African German, 32-year old Kim, who lives in the apartment below Katja. Kim's boss Dieter is in love with the cool chainsmoking Kim, who is an advertisement executive, and wants to marry her and does not make a secret of that. The relationship between Nabou and Kim develops from businesslike into warm friendship, due to a misunderstanding, which causes Kim to question her sexuality and her relationship with Dieter. A comedy with a required chase at the end, and a refreshing end, which shows that Germans do have humor, even concerning the obvious racism, which adds to the characters' development. A well made film with a captivating story and interesting multi-dimensional characters. The title is taken from Swahili sentence "Hakuna Matata", which means "everything will be fine" or "Alles sal regkom" in Afrikaans. |
